Ruffin McNeill's hometown of Lumberton, N.C., devastated by floods

When Virginia assistant coach Ruffin McNeill first saw the images from his flooded hometown of Lumberton, North Carolina, he felt a wide range of emotions.

Shock. Devastation. Disbelief.

The church he and his wife, Erlene, got married in is under water. His relatives have been without power for days, with few options for food. His 83-year-old father, Ruffin McNeill Sr., fled with son Reginald McNeill to Kernersville, North Carolina, last Sunday. They navigated flooded roads to make it out. Somehow, the McNeill home -- built in 1928 -- is still standing, though it did suffer wind damage.
