The Miami Hurricanes picked up a quarterback commitment on Monday, one with a familiar last name to fans in the state of Florida. Class of 2017 signal-caller Cade Weldon committed to Mark Richt and staff on Monday following an unofficial visit last week.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Weldon is the son of former Florida State quarterback Casey Weldon, who compiled a 16-2 record as a starter in Tallahassee, including finishing runner-up for the 1991 Heisman Trophy (to ESPN’s Desmond Howard) as the signal-caller for a Seminoles team that was ranked No. 1 for the majority of the season before finishing 10-2.
