SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- To borrow a baseball analogy, Nick Martin knows not every running play will go for a home run.
“Our philosophy is to take one play at a time, especially the offensive line and keep grinding,” the redshirt senior center said. “Not every play is going to be a big-chunk play, but if you can keep grinding you find your spots.”
That is the challenge at-hand for Notre Dame’s ground attack as it enters Fenway Park to face Boston College’s stingy defense. The Eagles are first nationally in total defense, yards per play, rushing defense, yards per rush and red-zone efficiency.
