The ACC has two obvious Heisman candidates at the moment: The preseason favorite (Clemson QB Deshaun Watson) and the current favorite (Louisville QB Lamar Jackson).
And to be sure, both are deserving of the attention. Jackson’s numbers are absurd, and Watson has led his team to a top-3 ranking. But there’s another ACC quarterback who belongs in the conversation, yet his name hasn’t been mentioned nearly as often.
North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky currently leads the country in TD:INT ratio (13 touchdowns, no interceptions) and has now gone 241 straight passes without a pick, the longest active streak in the country.
