North Carolina routes Miami 59-21 in another statement game

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The College Football Playoff committee has largely overlooked North Carolina so far this season, but the Tar Heels seem determined to force the spotlight onto their performance.

One week after thrashing rival Duke, North Carolina piled up the points again, this time drubbing Miami 59-21. The Tar Heels still haven’t officially clinched the Coastal Division, but they’ve thundered through their ACC schedule en route to nine straight wins — the first time the program has done that since 1914. QB Marquise Williams accounted for four touchdowns, Ryan Switzer returned a punt for a score and the defense once again looked strong.
