For many North Carolina fans, the opening game of 2016 felt a lot like the opener in 2015.
North Carolina’s defense held up relatively well. The ground game found plenty of room to run. North Carolina looked poised to knock off a big name from the SEC East.
And, like last season's frustrating loss to South Carolina, the Tar Heels let another one slip away Saturday night as a 24-14 third-quarter lead morphed into a 33-24 Georgia victory.
Even Carolina coach Larry Fedora's explanation for abandoning his ground game sounded familiar.
Fedora on Elijah Hood: "He's proven he's our starter.
