Wake Forest lost its starting quarterback and coughed up three turnovers, but the Demon Deacons still managed to escape Army with its first road victory since 2013. Backup QB Kendall Hinton found his stride in the second half, leading a final drive as the clock wound down, and kicker Mike Weaver won it with a 47-yard boot as time expired.
What the win means for Wake Forest: This wasn’t anything resembling a dominant performance, but it was a game Wake needed to win to keep its bowl hopes alive.
