Florida State was advertised as a national title contender, a program capable of breaking up Alabama's quest for back-to-back titles. To some, the Seminoles were already the No. 1 team in the country.
But on Saturday, they were Charlotte. They were Syracuse. They provided as much resistance as Louisville’s first two opponents: a program that has had exactly one senior class -- Charlotte football didn’t exist until 2013 -- and an Orange team with statistically the worst defense in FBS games nationally.
