Larry Scott isn't going to be Miami's next head coach. There is a good chance he won't be rehired as an assistant on the future staff, either.
But when Miami was on the verge of crumbling, it was Scott, the interim coach, who provided the mortar to reinforce the locker room's foundation. In five games, Scott went 4-1 and positioned Miami for a solid bowl game with an 8-4 record.
"We've been talking to the kids about having pride, and absolutely, as coaches, myself, you take a moment and take pride in what we're doing as well," Scott said Saturday, a day after a season-ending win at Pittsburgh.
