TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Last week began with a pen, paper and pledge at Florida State.
No more laziness. The Seminoles owed that to the coaches. No more failing to live up to the Florida State standard. They owed that to the former players who built the program, like Corey Fuller and Telvin Smith, who spoke to the team last week.
An oral contract was no longer adequate for coach Jimbo Fisher, either. The Seminoles' blather about fixing the loafing changed little. These obligations needed to be guaranteed in writing.
So at the end of practice the Tuesday following the crushing North Carolina loss that essentially eliminated the Seminoles from championship contention, Fisher handed players a slip of paper.
