Duke freshman guard Jared McCain scored 25 first-half points and 35 total as the No. 9 Blue Devils defeated the host Florida State Seminoles 76-67 on Saturday.
McCain made seven three-pointers and shot 9-of-10 from the field over the game's first 20 minutes. His final three with two seconds remaining gave Duke a 44-34 lead at the break.
McCain kept it going in the second half, hitting a huge three off a blocked shot to provide Duke with a 60-49 advantage.
Duke kept FSU at arm's length in the second half, leading by six or more throughout the entire frame thanks largely to a tremendous day from McCain, who also had three steals.
