DURHAM, N.C. — Duke coach David Cutcliffe has been on the sideline of a lot of football games in his career, and he couldn’t help but notice Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech just sounded different.
Tech’s triple option makes the line of scrimmage a nasty place every week, but it was Duke’s defense that was generating the loud clacks and viscous smacks and punishing blows throughout the Blue Devils’ 34-20 victory — a game in which the Yellow Jackets were held to their lowest rushing average since 2011.
