Year 1 under Dino Babers at Syracuse amounted to exactly the same number of wins as the Orange had in Scott Shafer’s final season. But while the team still finished 4-8, there’s an optimism around the program that wasn’t there before, and Babers said some patience is going to provide big results down the road -- even if this year wasn’t perfect.
Babers spent a few minutes talking about his first season and beyond with ESPN.com.
Did this season meet your expectations?
Babers: I think my expectations were pretty high. But I think all things said, we probably came out where a lot of people had us, battling for a bowl game if we could find one or two more wins.
