Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was named to the 2016 AFCA Good Works Team on Sept. 15, and on Tuesday, he was surprised with the award and some recognition for his work. Fittingly, it came during a Habitat for Humanity build, where Clemson's players were volunteering during their bye week.
Watson grew up in a Habitat for Humanity home, and he's been a regular volunteer and speaker for the organization since.
Tuesday's ceremony was sold to Watson as the team’s regular bye-week volunteer project, but members of the AFCA, local Habitat reps and members of Clemson's athletics department surprised him with the award.
