Deon Cain's off-field turnaround key to Clemson's on-field success

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Syracuse knew what was coming and did all it could to stop it.

The Orange were in a Cover 3, giving Clemson wide receiver Deon Cain a healthy cushion with a cornerback playing the deep third of the field to take away the long ball, but Cain ate up the 30 yards of grass in no time. Freshman cornerback Christopher Fredrick attempted to slow Cain’s progress, but the Clemson receiver bumped Fredrick off his route with ease. By the time Cain turned to look for the ball, all he had to do was settle underneath it and jog to the end zone.
