The kitchen in DeMarcus Walker's one-man apartment doesn’t look like it belongs to a busy, 22-year-old college student and future NFL player. The shelves are stocked with crockpots, rice cookers, well-kept barbecue equipment and not one but two deep fryers among other basic culinary tools.
A couple years ago Walker got sick of walking to fast food joints in Tallahassee when he got hungry. He decided it was time to learn to fix his own meals and discovered his second passion. Florida State’s 6-foot-4, 280-pound prolific pass rusher loves to cook, and according to the folks he has fed, he’s almost as deadly in the kitchen as he can be in opposing backfields.
