CLEMSON, S.C. -- Christian Wilkins’ 10-yard run Saturday will inevitably be referred to by the terms big guys’ runs always are. He rumbled down the field or he stampeded past defenders. He’s a 310-pound defensive lineman, so those powerful descriptors feel appropriate.
But here’s the thing: Wilkins looked smooth and spry, bouncing the run outside when no hole developed, darting for a first down. Still, the run ended with, of all things, a tackle by a scrawny defensive back.
“It’s always real fun when I get to tote the rock a little bit,” Wilkins said, “but I’m a little upset to get tackled by a DB.
