Clemson's Christian Wilkins a unique player with a unique path

CLEMSON, S.C. -- During a recent workout in Clemson's weight room, Christian Wilkins settled a debate with a teammate. The subject: the location of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

"He said Indiana," Wilkins recounted, smiling. "I had to prove him wrong."

Wilkins had better. He's from Springfield, Massachusetts, home to the Hall. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound sophomore defensive lineman is the only New England native on Clemson's roster, filled mostly with Carolinians and Georgians.
