Clemson never doubted it would regroup, return after CFP heartbreak

ORLANDO, Fla. -- In eight years, Dabo Swinney never had a day like this one. None of his Clemson players showed up. It was the same at his next two accountability gassers, too.

Mixing offense and defense, big and small, class and position, Swinney partitions eight accountability groups within his team before each spring. When one player runs afoul of a rule -- team violations, skips tutoring, etc. -- the entire accountability team is earmarked for the grueling runs.

No groups had to show up at Clemson’s practice fields for punishment the first three runs. At that point there were no doubts about his team's motivation.
