CLEMSON, S.C. -- A couple times a week, coach Dabo Swinney steals two behemoths from Clemson’s defensive line and brings them over to work with the offense.
The job he assigns Christian Wilkins (6-foot-4, 310 pounds) and Dexter Lawrence (6-foot-5, 340 pounds) isn’t particularly complex, but it’s an important enough role for the Tigers that Swinney likes to go over it routinely. He lines them up, points them in a direction, and then sets them loose and watches the carnage unfold.
“They’re smart guys, and it’s not rocket science,” Swinney said. “It’s a little bit of reps here and there, and the rest is natural ability.
