For the Miami Hurricanes to challenge on a national level again, coach Mark Richt knows he is going to have to call the offense.
That’s not arrogance from Richt, who won a national title (as an assistant) and two SEC championships as a play-caller. He credits former assistant Mike Bobo with doing a great job when Richt relinquished calling plays at Georgia.
If Richt is going to rebuild a Miami program that has yet to make any significant mark on the ACC, however, it’s going to take the energy and hands-on approach he possessed early in his Georgia tenure.
