The playoff committee has had its say, and it decided Clemson’s loss to Pitt warranted dropping the Tigers two spots — but it didn’t warrant moving Louisville ahead of them. The fallout is this: Clemson drops to No. 4, but with Nos. 2 and 3 playing each other in Week 13, the Tigers will likely be no worse than third if they win out. Louisville, on the other hand, still has to cross its fingers and hope for a little luck because as it stands, the committee is clearly prioritizing the Big Ten, and if a conference is going to get two teams in, it’s probably not going to be the ACC.
