Clemson is a 10-point favorite over Virginia Tech in the ACC championship game. ESPN’s FPI metric gives the Tigers an 84 percent chance to win. But championship games are never slam dunks, so the Tigers have to beware of the upset. Especially because a loss here would end their College Football Playoff hopes.
Virginia Tech is vastly improved in just about every area this season, averaging over 450 yards per game on offense -- the first time that has happened since 1999. Quarterback Jerod Evans has been the biggest reason why, but he also has a trio of receivers who can make plays: Isaiah Ford, Cam Phillips and Bucky Hodges have combined for 169 catches, 2,323 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns in 2016.
