Christian Barmore, Patriots reportedly agree to contract extension

Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore has agreed to a 4-year contract extension worth up to $ 92 million, according to Doug Kyed of The Boston Herald.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound defensive lineman has improved steadily since being drafted by New England in the second round of the 2021 draft.

Barmore is coming off of a career year. He posted 64 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 6 passes defended, and a forced fumble while helping to anchor one of the NFL’s top run defenses.

The Patriots gave up a league-best 3.3 yards per carry last season and were top-five in rushing yards allowed (1,584).
