The Washington Nationals offense took awhile to show up tonight, but it roared to life in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs to tie the game at 3. Then sealed the deal in the top of the 11th with 4 more huge runs to allow the Nats to beat the Atlanta Braves 7-3 tonight!
The player of the game in my opinion is Alex Cora who came up clutch with the game tying hit in the 9th and then another hit in the 11th inning rally. Cora was a pinch hitter in the 9th and ended up 2-2 with 2 RBI's and scored a run. The offense had 6 hits going into the top of the 9th, but had 7 more from that point. Jayson Werth hit a big 2 run HR during the 4 run 11th and looks to be settling in at the plate recently.
This win also allows the Nats to get their record back to .500 at 18-18 and 4-4 on this road trip. Click the play button below to hear the Washington Nationals Postgame Podcast Report.
