The Washington Nationals can never do things the easy way it seems and whenever it appears are fortunes are changing, we get the rug pulled out from under us. Now I know how Wile E. Coyote feels! This is a devastating loss because the Nats were leading the Atlanta Braves 5-1 in the 7th inning and then the bottom fell out.
Jordan Zimmermann pitched great and struck out a career high 11 batters. He was running out of gas when manager Jim Riggleman went to Shaky Sean Burnett with one out in the 7th inning and that's when the wheels fell off. Burnett gave up a grand slam to Martin Prado and that tied the game up at 5-5. Click the play button below to hear the Washington Nationals Postgame Podcast Report.
