Matt Williams of the Washington Nationals has been named NL Manager of the Year in his first season with the team. The Baseball Writers Association of America gave him 18 first-place votes, a commanding lead over the Pirates' Clint Hurdle (8 votes) and the San Francisco Giants' Bruce Bochy (3 votes).
Williams won 96 games in 2014 as the Nationals won the NL East with a 17-game lead over the opposition. Their +131 run differential was third in Major League Baseball.
