Washington Capitals defenseman Matt Niskanen is listed as day-to-day after suffering during Sunday’s win over the Florida Panthers, and missed practice Monday afternoon.
Washington is ensure of when Niskanen's injury occurred, but they think it was when he took a puck off his ankle.
“I’ll have a better idea [on his status] tomorrow,” coach Barry Trotz said. “He’s going to come out, give a whirl, sort of like Brooks. I think we should be fine. Right now he’s just day-to-day.”
Niskanen has registered 12 points in 38 games while playing on the second defensive pairing with Karl Alzner all season.
