The Texas Rangers are sure what they'll get out of outfielder Josh Hamilton this year, but there's some good news regarding Hamilton. He's battled knee issues in recent years, but his left knee is feeling great.
"It feels good," Hamilton told the Dallas Morning News. "Scary good. It's the best it's felt in five years."
However, Hamilton will not be on the 25-man roster to start the season. He'll be with the team for Opening Day activities, but will return to Arizona to get started with the next step in his recovery.
"I'm happy with where we are at," Hamilton said. "The experience of getting too excited, pushing too hard and having setbacks has helped me settle down and stay with the plan."
The Rangers are hoping that Hamilton has a chance to join the club around May 1st.
