HOCKLEY, Texas — The University of Texas women's golf team has a two-shot lead at the Big 12 Championships at the Clubs at Houston Oaks after the opening round on Thursday.
On a day where no team in the field shot under par the Longhorns shot a two-over-par 286 in round one. Houston is second after an opening four-over par 288. TCU is third with a seven-over-par 291.
Texas freshman Lauren Kim made the turn at one-under-par and birdied 10 and 12 to get to three-under before finishing her round with a two-under-par 69.
