Texas' 2016 recruiting class is currently No. 32 in 247Sports' recruiting rankings. But the Longhorns are in battles for some of the state's elite talent. 247Sports Director of Scouting Barton Simmons said the Longhorns will need to make comeback late in the 2016 recruiting cycle.
"I think when you talk about Texas recruiting, you think about top-five classes, top-10 classes, and it's not that right now," Simmons said. "It's a top-32 class. In that regard, it's a class that needs to improve to compete with the national powers. But it's a class that can improve. It's class I think will be a lot better by the time national signing day pulls around.
