The Texas A&M Aggies are still in the midst of spring practice in preparation for the 2016 season, but that doesn't mean head coach Kevin Sumlin and his staff have taken a step back on the recruiting trail. Here are all the latest news and rumors surrounding Texas A&M recruiting.
Four-Star DT Gets A&M Offer
Greg Rogers, a four-star recruit, picked up an offer from the Aggies last week, and spoke with 247Sports about the offer.
"Texas A&M is a great program and I’m glad they sent the offer to me," Rogers said. “The defensive line coaches, Coach (Terry) Price and Coach (David) Turner are great guys. I’m glad they finally reached out to me because Texas A&M is a program that I’ve been looking into for a bit now. I know that Coach (Noel) Mazzone had something to do them looking at my tape because he recruited me at UCLA. Now that he’s at Texas A&M, there’s definitely a connection there, and I’m looking forward to building the relationships."
Rogers hails from Nevada and is the No. 143 overall recruit in the class of 2017. He's the No. 8 defensive tackle, but the Aggies will need to do some work to land him. USC and UCLA are the early favorites, with Arizona and Arizona State also in the mix.
Aggies Offer Three-Star OG
Texas A&M has offered three-star OG Xavier Newman, who is from Texas. Newman has picked up several offers as of late, and has 20 already. Newman told 247Sports he will visit the Aggies for the team's spring game on April 9th.
Three-Star CB Gets Offer
The Aggies have an offer out to three-star CB Terrell Bailey and they might be in a good spot to land him. Bailey told 247Sports that he grew up a bit of an Aggie fan.
"I like Texas A&M a lot," Bailey said. "I’ve been liking them since I was young. The offer was kinda out the blue but I was excited when I got it."
However, Bailey is a bigger LSU fan said he'd have a tough time turning down the Tigers.
