Tennessee Volunteers head coach Butch Jones was facing some serious allegations, with rumors swirling that he struck a player during this summer’s practice. Jones also faces allegations of hitting players “multiple times” at practice during his time at Cincinnati.
The Vols had to respond to the rumors, so they issued a statement on Thursday expressing their support of Butch Jones.
According to the Vols, they are “very confident” that there was no “inappropriate conduct” between the head coach and any player.
“There’s been a lot of rumor and misinformation on social media and message boards about an alleged incident during football practice,” UT-Knoxville chancellor Jimmy Cheek said, via GoVols247.
