Tennessee Volunteer football is in full-on scrambling mode in the wake of Jon Gruden turning the schools offer down. The Tennessee Athletic Dept. went all in on Gruden, thinking a massive cash and incentive offer would land the former Super Bowl winning coach.
Where has the program looked in the past 48 hours post-Gruden? From what we heard just in the past hour, the Volunteers have turned to ACC country and have put out initial inquiries to Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and North Carolina coach Larry Fedora.
Swinney is the most likely of the two coaches. He has had his eye on the Alabama job his entire coaching career, but with Saban likely to coach another 5 years and Kirby Smart being groomed to take over the Alabama dynasty for years after Saban retires, his dream job looks like a pipe dream.
Swinney is an SEC guy at heart and will likely be very interested in the job. The financial package would be the only thing that holds up Swinney from making the move, our sources say.

As far as Fedora: He was a plan B coach 3 years ago when Dooley was hired, and has a lot of fans in the UT Athletic Dept. Being in year one at UNC, we are hearing it is unlikely he would make a move this soon, with so much unfinished business to accomplish at UNC.
