The Tennessee Volunteers will face the Iowa Hawkeyes in the TaxSlayer Bowl (formerly Gator Bowl), according to multiple sources.
Tennessee (6-6) became bowl eligible for the first time since 2010 by winning three of the last four games of the season, including an upset victory over South Carolina and wins over rivals Kentucky and Vanderbilt. This will be the Vols' sixth appearance in the TaxSlayer Bowl, with the latest coming in 1994.
Iowa (7-5) controlled their own destiny in the Big Ten West late in the season, but lost three of their last four games and four of their last six to end the season on a disappointing note. The Hawkeyes will be looking for a win over an SEC team to salvage some of their season, and get some momentum for next season. This would mark Iowa's second appearance in the TaxSlayer Bowl, with the first coming in 1983.
Kickoff for the game is set for 3:20 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 2 at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.
