The Kansas Jayhawks started the week as the #1 team in the country and the projected top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Now, they have likely lost both of those accolades.
In the first big upset of the Power Six conference tournaments, the TCU Horned Frogs stunned KU with a 85-82 upset victory.
Kansas built a 12-point lead late in the first half, but TCU caught fire and went on a 16-3 run in the final four minutes before the break to grab a 43-42 lead. They then started the second half with a 17-7 run to build a 60-49 lead, and it looked like the upset was an inevitability.
Of course, it wouldn't be that easy. As they've done all season, Kansas stormed back and regained the lead with 6:43 remaining. The two sides continued to trade blows down the stretch, and with the score tied 82-82, Svi Mykhailiuk fouled Desmond Bane shooting a three with just over two seconds left.

Bane went to the line and made all three free throws. Devonte' Graham had a shot to tie the game at the buzzer, but missed.
Bane scored 16 points off the bench, leading the bench unit that proved to be the difference in the game as TCU's reserves outscored Kansas 34-3. Kenrich Williams also chipped in 18 points.
The Jayhawks were led by Frank Mason III's 29 points, while Landen Lucas had 13 points and 14 rebounds.
TCU will play Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals on Friday.
