Dixon is an alumnus of TCU, which likely played a big role in him leaving Pittsburgh. In 13 years at the helm of the Panthers, Dixon posted a 328-123 record. He won at least 20 games in every season but one.
It's a great hire for TCU, a program that hasn't won 20 games since the 2004-05 season and hasn't made the NCAA Tournament since 1998. TCU fired head coach Trent Johnson after a 12-21 season this year. He had one winning season in four years.
The Panthers will now search for a new head coach after making the NCAA Tournament this year and for the 11th time under Dixon.
