The SEC is the best conference in the country with some of the most storied programs in the country and many of the country's top players. Here are the five players that have separated themselves above the rest in the SEC this year:
5) Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU Tigers
Yes, it may seem strange to put Fournette on a list like this given the fact that he has only played in four games this season, but that's the only reason why he's not No. 1. He has rushed for over 100 yards in every game, and has 670 yards and five touchdowns on just 83 carries. Plus, look out how he scored a good Ole Miss defense:

4) Trevor Knight, QB Texas A&M Aggies
The Aggies are a top 10 team even after their loss to Alabama, and Knight is a big reason why. His play under center has led the Aggies to big wins over UCLA, Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee. Most impressive is his dual-threat ability - he has passed for 1,664 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 526 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
3) Jalen Hurts, QB, Alabama Crimson Tide
Hurts is getting some Heisman love as Alabama's quarterback, and for a true freshman, Hurts has looked great. He's completing 63.1 percent of his passes for 1,549 yards, 11 touchdowns and five picks. However, what really sets him apart is his running ability, where he has 521 yards and nine touchdowns. If Alabama keeps winning, Hurts will get a good chunk of the credit and maybe a few Heisman votes.
2) Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee Volunteers
In a league of excellent pass rushers, Barnett has cemented himself as the best of the bunch this year. Despite a slow start, Barnett has racked up six sacks this season, including at least one in each of Tennessee's biggest games against Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M and Alabama. Plus, he ranks second in the conference in tackles for loss, and has been a disruptive force on virtually every play.
1) Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama Crimson Tide
Foster doesn't have any eye-popping stats, but that's largely because of how many other excellent players are on the unit. However, this unit is easily the best in the game, and he's their leader and top tackler.
