The 6 Best Sports Bars In San Francisco

San Francisco is fast becoming the marquee sports city in North America, boasting a legitimate baseball dynasty in the San Francisco Giants, one of football's most storied and successful franchises in the 49ers, and a claim to the new arena of the NBA's best team, the Golden State Warriors.

It’s also one heck of the place to grab a beer and watch games from all around the world, with a host of unique bars tailored to the sports fan in you. To celebrate that, we present to you our list of The 6 Best Sports Bars In San Francisco.

Double Play Bar & Grill

2401 16th St.

San Francisco, CA 94103

(415) 621-9859

Check them out on Facebook here.

A slice of San Francisco baseball history, Double Play is situated right across the street from the former Seals Stadium (now the Potrero Center). It's still one of the best places in the city to sit down and watch a game with a ton of other baseball-obsessed folks, and the fact that it's both a true sports bar and a great restaurant makes it a must-go. Try the seafood fettuccine. Trust us.

San Francisco Athletic Club

1750 Divisadero St.

San Francisco, CA 94115

(415) 923-8989

This place just opened up recently, and we are ridiculously excited about ‘em. A collaboration between the guys who run Kezar Pub (which you’ll find a little further down this list) and the Corner Store (our favorite brunch spot in SF), this place has 28(!) TVs, tons of beers, and an awesome menu. To complete the “athletic club” vibe, the entire place is decked out like a high-class basketball gym.

Green's Sports Bar

2239 Polk St.

San Francisco, CA 94109

(415) 775-4287

Check them out on Facebook here.

Green's is a true neighborhood staple out in Russian Hill/Cow Hollow, and one visit during baseball or football season will be enough to make it your favorite watering hole too. Combining a relaxed atmosphere, a ton of televisions, and seats galore, Green's is a true SF sports fan's dream. Also, there's always a ton of food specials so that both your stomach and your sports fandom are taken care of.

Mad Dog In The Fog

530 Haight St.

San Francisco, CA 94117

(415) 626-7279

http://www.themaddoginthefog.com

For the European football fan in you, Mad Dog In The Fog is one of most laid-back bars in all of The Haight -- an area not necessarily known for low key, chilled-out spots like this. There's a giant television screen in the back and more screens sprinkled throughout the bar, so you'll never miss a moment of your favorite footie contests from across the pond. Also, the drink prices are more than fair and the bar food is as classic as it tasty.

The Taco Shop at Underdogs

1824 Irving St.

San Francisco, CA

(415) 566-8700

http://www.tacoshopsf.com

Beer. Margaritas. Tacos. Repeat. This may not be your traditional "sports bar," but there's plenty of television screens for you to catch the game you wanna see while basking in the aforementioned awesomeness of beer, margaritas, and tacos. It pays to get to this bar early because it fills up in an instant, but if you find a comfy spot and flag down a bucket of beers (and some Nick's Way TACOS), you'll be in heaven.

3300 Club

3300 Mission St.

San Francisco, CA 94110

(415) 826-6886

http://www.3300club.com

The mecca of true regulars' sports bars in all of San Francisco, this is a must-stop for every diehard San Francisco sports fan. The vibe is old-school chill and the bartenders are both top-notch and super friendly. Plus, one look at the television on a 49ers or Giants gameday and you'll know where this bar's loyalities lie. Also, a well shot and a Tecate for 5 bucks on Mondays? How can you go wrong with that?!?
