The San Francisco Giants have found at least a short-term solution at third base, acquiring Casey McGehee from the Miami Marlins on Friday.
Here's CBS Sports' Jon Heyman with the report:
mcgehee will be going to #SFGiants. @JCRMarlinsbeat suggested heading that way

Although his name was floated when trade rumors first surfaced, FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal is indicating that Hunter Strickland will not be a part of the package heading back to the Marlins:
If #SFGiants complete deal for McGehee, Strickland will not be among players headed to #Marlins. Trade getting close, per @JCRMarlinsbeat.

In all likelihood, the Giants will send Miami some minor league pitching to finalize the trade.
After the Marlins acquired Martin Prado from the New York Yankees on Friday, McGehee became expendable. The Giants will likely be on the hook for around $3.5 million in McGehee's final year of arbitration before he hits free agency next winter. He slashed .287/.355/.357 in 691 plate appearances with the Marlins in 2014.
