The San Francisco Giants beat the New York Mets 5-0 thanks to a no-hitter from rookie pitcher Chris Heston, who was making just the 13th start of his career and is just 6-4 on the season.
This marks the fourth straight season that the Giants have had a pitcher throw a no-hitter, and it's the 17th no-no in franchise history. Heston also is the first rookie to throw a no-hitter since Clay Buchholz in 2007.
He struck out 11 batters and didn't give up a single walk - though he did hit three batters - but also gave himself some run support with a two RBI single in the fourth inning.
Matt Duffy and Joe Panik hit solo home runs in the 6th and 7th inning, respectively, giving Heston and the Giants a bigger cushion.
