Former San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Bob St. Clair has died, the University of San Francisco athletic department announced on their website Monday evening. He was 84.
St. Clair spent 11 seasons in the NFL, all with the 49ers, and was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990.
USF issued a statement on the passing of St. Clair:
"On behalf of the entire USF community, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the St. Clair family on the passing of one of the greatest Dons of all-time," said USF Director of Athletics Scott Sidwell.
