Hodges was a fourth round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Penn State.
He recorded 20 tackles in four games this season and was listed as the starter at middle linebacker. However, his departure from the team was inevitable when the Vikings spent a second round pick on Eric Kendricks in the most recent NFL Draft.
The 49ers have NaVarro Bowman at one MLB spot, but Hodges will likely compete for playing time with Michael Wilhoite at the other.
Easton was acquired from the Ravens before Week 1, and the team was reportedly about to cut him. Now, he heads to the Vikings. The Vikings are without starting center John Sullivan.
