The San Francisco 49ers have waived wide receiver Marlon Moore. Moore, a fourth-year player out of Fresno State, caught one pass for six yards and had one rush for nine yards through six cameo appearances for the team this season.
Moore was originally signed by the Miami Dolphins after going undrafted in 2010. The 6'0, 190 lb receiver has 13 receptions for 250 yards and two touchdowns total in his career so far.
The 49ers originally signed Moore on on March 19, 2013. Although Jim Harbaugh's 49ers were widely rumored to be looking to add depth at the wide receiver position in the days leading up to the NFL trade deadline, Moore was apparently deemed surplus to requirements with Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham close to returning from long-term injuries.
Manningham has been impressing in practice after missing 10 months with an ACL/PCL tear, and could play in San Francisco's Nov. 10 matchup with the Carolina Panthers.
