The Week 12 Monday Night Football game features two underperforming teams in the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins. The Niners offense has struggled mightily for the past couple weeks and the Redskins defense has struggled all season long. Looking at the game from a fantasy football matchup, this one has the ability to have a lot of points scored.
San Francisco 49ers: Colin Kaepernick failed to pass for at least 200 yards for the fourth straight game and the eighth time this season. The Redskins secondary has been getting burnt like toast all season long and is ranked 25th in the league against the pass. If Kaepernick can't do it this game, then when will he. You also hope that he turns it loose a few times in terms of running with the football. Frank Gore has been one of the most reliable running backs in the league this season and will continue to be that this week. Kendall Hunter is purely a stash option at this point. Anquan Boldin remains the 49ers No. 1 WR but has topped 100 yards receiving since his week 1 blowup for 208 yards. Boldin will have Deangelo Hall covering him and should be looked at as a WR3 or flex option this week. Play him with hopes of a touchdown. Mario Manningham has been back for two week now and has managed only four cathes for 38 yards and no touchdowns. If you own him, you can leave him on your bench. Although, this game does have the look of being his first big game since returning to action. Vernon Davis, now here is the must play, along with Frank Gore. These are the two 49ers you undoubtedly put into your lineup every week. Davis is going to have a field day against the Redskins and a 100-yard, two-touchdown performance is not out of question. San Francisco defense hasn't been the same unit in terms of fantasy that we have all come to know, but with that said, you are starting the Niners defense as the waiver-wire is likely dried up of available defensive options.
Booms of the game: Vernon Davis, Frank Gore
Busts of the game: Kendall Hunter, Anquan Boldin
Play if you have no better option: Colin Kaepernick
Sleeper: Mario Manningham
