The San Francisco 49ers have plenty of work to do in order to rebuild their linebacking corps after the offseason retirements of Patrick Willis and Chris Borland, and TCU Horned Frogs standout Paul Dawson could be a draft target for the team as they begin that process.
Per Chase Goodbread of NFL.com, "the 49ers will host the former Texas Christian star for a pre-draft visit, according to the Sacramento Bee. He should be available on Day 2, in part due to character concerns and a disappointing NFL Scouting Combine performance that have muddled projections on the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year."
However, some NFL draft analysts are sticking to their guns on Dawson -- putting perceived character issues on the back-burner while focusing on the pure athletic explosiveness he brings to the table.
Whether or not the 49ers are willing to do the same remains to be seen.
