Amidst swirling trade rumors and layers of speculation, San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh remains focused on one thing - winning football games in the here and now.
“I’m not going to speculate,” Harbaugh said when asked about a potential move before the 2015 NFL season on Monday, via CSNBayArea.com and NBC's Pro Football Talk. “It’s our job to move on without excuse, without apology and get it right, make it right. That’s our intention. I don’t worry about my future. I don’t participate in any of that speculation. I think I have recessive gene in worrying about my own future.”
Harbaugh also offered "unwavering support" for all the team's coaches and players (including embattled offensive coordinator and play caller Greg Roman) in his first full media appearance since Thursday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that the Oakland Raiders and New York Jets could be preparing to inquire about a trade for Harbaugh this coming offseason - a rumor that appears amplified in the wake of Thursday's disappointing home defeat.
