The San Francisco 49ers got linebacker Aldon Smith back for their victory over the New York Giants on Sunday, and they will have yet another returning face in their defensive rotation for next week's game against the Washington Redskins.
Per Josh Alper of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "the team announced Monday that they have activated defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey from injured reserve and added him to their 53-man roster."
Dorsey was placed on injured reserve at the start of the 2014 NFL season after he suffered a biceps injury. However, he returned to practice a few weeks back and hasn't dealt with any major setbacks while working out on the field.
To make room for Dorsey, the San Francisco 49ers placed nose tackle Ian Williams (fractured fibula) on injured reserve. Dorsey provides a dynamic presence on a 49ers defensive line in need of reinforcements. He amassed 41 tackles and two sacks for the team in 16 games (13 starts) during the 2013 NFL season.
