The Steelers hired Todd Haley to improve their offense and protect Ben Roethlisberger, and right up until Mark Barron’s stumbling act Sunday in St. Louis, he had done a good job of that.
Haley, partly through his own innovations, had a luxury no previous offensive coordinator had while coaching Roethlisberger because he did not miss a game over the past two seasons for the first time in his career.
Now he will miss 4-6 weeks and Haley must adjust an offense perfectly suited to Roethlisberger’s abilities to those of Mike Vick. And has had to do it with just two days of practice before tonight’s kickoff against the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field.
