The Pittsburgh Pirates won 8-6 over the first place Milwaukee Brewers Monday night. They got off to an early lead in the first inning after Jack Suwinski hit a two-run home run off Brewers starter Colin Rea.
Despite a crazed last two frames, the Pirates never let go of that lead.
Cruz continued his excellence at the plate. His OPS for the season climbed all the way back up to .778 after going two-for-four with a double and a walk.
Cruz also nailed another relay throw, throwing out his counterpart Willy Adames trying to stretch a double into a triple to end the inning.
